After all the hard work Matrona is now ready for a new owner to enjoy. We are now very pleased that we have found a new owner for Matrona and that she will be staying in the Marina. We wish them all the best and many sea miles of good sailing.

if anyone is interested in the work we have done on the w25 please drop me an email to dave@easymarine.co.uk

A nice chap was admiring our Westerly 25 in the Yard last week and he said he was considering putting his Westerly Tempest up for sale as she has seen no use for past 4 years!. I said what price are you thinking of........we are now the proud owner of 2 westerlies but the W25 will have to go...now on sale For £4,500 on boats and outboards......what a shame after all the hard work and attention but the new boat will be a larger cottage in Scotland despite the higher berth fees.

The crane driver said the boat is on the dial at just over 4 tons!! We know she is solid but that is more than a centaur? If true that has put paid to building a trailer and towing with camper van. looking for a strong pair of Bathroom scales.

ready for the antifouling

ready for the antifouling

epoxy bottom and boot top!

The under water hull has now been cleaned off back to the top layer of epoxy protection coating and a further to be sure double coat of international gell shield epoxy applied. The keels having been epoxy tarred are now given a few coats of Primacon to resist bleed thru of the epoxy onto the Antifoul.

After re masking the water line, four coats of white Trilux boot topping is applied

After re stepping the mast and having a look at the fore sails it was clear that they would not stand any sort of a blow so a board room ecision was made to invest in a headsail reefing/furling gear from Plastimo type 608s. We are hoping that a genoa supplied by a friend at the club will get us by for this season.....hope it fits the new spar!
The 608s was purchased from Seateach at a price that beat all other suppliers and was delivered within 24 hours of order...wow.

Now the mast is up time to try out the sails that came with the boat .....main OK but jibs a bit iffy....after a board meeting the decision is to purchase a head sail furling system and a new Genoa....no holiday this year then!
