An attempt to follow the progress my wife and I are making on our 1965 Westerly restoration. The learning curves are steep and painfull but very rewarding if not expensive.

As the owner of Sundowner of Gilkicker (of which the poignant connotations will not be lost apon yourself) I must compliment you on a first class job. Mine has yet to be refurbished and unusually has a Bowsprit (this model has had certain criticism of weather helm). I had to remove it from a lake and have certain details of the trailer I designed/built to do this on the Westerly Owners Yahoo site. If you know anyone who has a cheap main I would be most greatful. If you dismast in the future take care with supporting the Plastimo 608-S(?)as it may come apart and fray the genoa. You have not shown what was done with the heads, and some details of the sealants & paint used would be helpful especially for the keels. Enjoy. Colin Rose
